I want to shop locally and support Austin’s small businesses.  I want to get the most unique statement pieces.  I want to eat at the city’s best restaurants and hit the coolest shows.  I want to make The 2ND Street District my go-to destination for all-things-awesome, BUT THERE IS NOWHERE TO PARK!

Admit it.  If you haven’t actually said this out loud to a friend, you might have at least said something like this to yourself.  Not that we’d ever publicly call you out, (Rude!) but to ever so politely combat this contagious and contaminated thinking, we would like to offer the following for your consideration:

Fact:  Right now, The 2ND Street District is comprised of 6 square blocks in downtown Austin.

Fact:  There are FIVE parking garages that are open to the public ranging from $Free (for 2 hours with validation, M-F, 9am-6pm) to $5 and up at other times, depending on events like ACL tapings and concerts.

Fact:  Beginning at 5pm, there are 3 Valet stands in The 2ND Street District, with service that usually costs a cool $7.

Seven.  Bucks.  For swanky curbside service.  You can’t beat that.  Especially when you consider that so many District and in-store events are FREE.

Fact: There are several surface parking lots surrounding the District, one as close as 3rd Street in between San Antonio and Guadalupe, in addition to plenty of street parking.

Fact:  You have bikes.  We have racks.  By the way, cyclists, a big THANK YOU from us for using the best “alternative fuel” we can think of: your own energy!

Fact:  The Capital Metro busses stop conveniently in and around the District.

Quick summary: 6 square blocks of Austin cool, 5 garages, 3 valet stands, several nearby surface lots, street parking, bikes racks, Capital Metro…lots of ways to get to and park in the 2SD.

So, please come visit us and help keep the 2SD Where Texas Warmth Meets Austin Cool.  And, if we happen to tell you where you can “park it,” please know it’s just because we’d like to have the pleasure of your company a little longer.
