So go ahead and get cozy in all your cold weather layers as we pour a cornucopia-sized catalog of must-attend activities straight onto your Thanksgiving plate. We promise it’ll warm your heart as much as your stomach.

Dim Sum Delights – RedFarm’s Grand Opening

You heard it here first – a taste of New York City’s legendary Chinese cuisine has arrived in downtown Austin. Redfarm, the award-winning restaurant famous for its contemporary take on Chinese cookery and out-of-this-world dim sum, opened its doors on Wednesday, November 8th. The original RedFarm became a West Village fixture after its 2011 debut, with native Hong Kong Chef Joe Ng quickly making a name for himself with whimsical culinary creations like Pac-Man designed dumplings and egg rolls filled with pastrami from Katz’s Delicatessen. Original partners Ng and Zach Chodorow have teamed up with Austin restaurateur Jesse Herman (of La Condesa fame!) to bring their exuberant Chinese fare to the 2nd Street District. Perfect for a night out of shared plates with your friends, RedFarm promises locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and dim sum delights unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Buzz on a Budget – National Happy Hour Day is Here!

If you’re looking to wet your whistle on a shoestring budget, then look no further than National Happy Hour Day in the 2nd Street District. For all of November, Austin’s finest mixologists are pulling out all the stops with specialty cocktails that’ll knock you off your barstool. In honor of National Happy Hour Day on November 12th, we’ve curated the following list of month-long happy hours to add to your Austin pub crawl:

  1. The Well, Monday - Friday 4 - 6pm

  2. BarChi Sushi, Monday - Saturday 4 - 7pm / Sunday all day

  3. Bill’s Oyster, Everyday 3 - 5:30 pm

  4. Numero 28, Monday - Friday 4:30 - 6pm

  5. The Baci Room, Tuesday - Friday 3 - 5 pm

La Condesa’s “All Tequila, All Shade" Drag Brunch

But the real draw for National Happy Hour Day is the “All Tequila, All Shade” Drag Brunch at La Condesa, brought to you by our fine sponsors Tequila Tromba and 400 Conejos Mezcal. Join your favorite Drag Queens Vylette Ward and Diamond Dior Davenport on Sunday at 12:15 pm for some live music, margaritas by the pitcher, and as many brunch favorites as you can eat.

A chunk of the proceeds from the drink specials will be donated to The Equality Alliance Texas, a nonprofit dedicated to providing financial support for LGBTQIA+ charities fighting for equality in Central Texas. Reserve yourself a spot and remember to bring cash tips to support your Queens!

Tired of deciding between white meat or dark meat? Let Cru Food & Wine Bar make your decision for you! To round off the list just in time for Turkey Day, visit Cru for a 3-course prix fixe menu on November 23rd from 12pm to 8pm. The Cru chefs have prepared a harvest-inspired feast, with Angry Orchard Rosé Cider to wash down all that dry stuffing. Enjoy a relaxing, stress-free Thanksgiving day feast you and your family will never forget.
